The discharger consists of an inductive/resistive element connected to a 63 A power switch on the capacitor.

The device is suitable for discharging capacitors with a reactive power of up to 50 kVAr. The charges are removed from a capacitor of this size in a maximum of 20 seconds to such an extent that the capacitor voltage drops below 50 V. Smaller capacitors are discharged in less time.
